October fun

We just returned from a great vacation that we were able to spend with Andy, Mike, Stacy, and Emma. It was one of the best!

On Sunday, September 30, we picked the kids up at the airport. Andy flew into O'Hare at 5a. Phil picked him up. I left home at the same time and met them in Janesville for breakfast, then on to Grandma Becker's for a little time. At noon, we picked Mike, Stacy and Emma up at the Madison airport and had lunch with Grandma, Aunt Nell, Tedd and Heather - soon to be husband and wife in less than a week! After lunch we headed up to the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells for 3 fun days. What will we remember?

The waterpark, of course.
The best bathing beauty of us all.
Moosejaw restaurant for dinner. Fun, fun, fun.

On Wednesday, we headed up to the cottage. We got a chance to make cake and ice cream. Ask Emma who makes cake and ice cream better than her and Nana. The answer will be "Nobody!" We played a card game called Three Goats and a Chicken, of which Stacy and Mike managed to beat the ___ out of the rest of us. (Must have learned those sneaky moves in Texas!).

We also boated
fished and carved pumpkins. Saturday we left the cottage and headed back to Madison for Tedd and Heather's wedding. It was a great time - chance to visit with family, raise a toast or two, and dance the night away. Mike and I got a chance to Polka, Grandma did the Chicken Dance, and Andy got Nell out on the dance floor too. But, the winner of the dance contest with a blister on her foot was Emma. She spent the entire time the dance floor was open until we left out dancing - or running circles around the dance floor. She had a blast. On our way home she said that Heather was Snow White and she got to dance with Snow White. She was also Snow White (White dresses and all). And, Pappy was a real good dancer! Oh yeah, Nana was too. (Afterthought and a little bit of prompting needed). Here is a picture of Emma and Grandma Becker (Annie)
Emma and her first boyfriend??

Sunday we all disbursed back to our homes. Phil and I miss the kids already. It was great fun and games, relaxation, camaraderie (did I mention that Phil and the guys got a chance to use the chain saw at the cottage and dropped two dead trees?)

The next family get-to-gether will be in Dallas for Christmas. I know that Phil and I can't wait.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!!
