I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Years. Ours started out pretty lousy, but then it can only go up from here.
I ended up with a nasty sinus headache on New Years eve day, which means I felt like hell and did not partake in any of our planned activities. Instead I stayed home (at the cottage) and fed myself lots of advil and sudafed sinus. No luck, I was down for the count. Phil went over to Norb and Karyl's for dinner and conversation. Apparently it just did not feel right to continue the game marathon we had started the night before. We were in bed by 11p and asleep long before the bell rang 12 times. Ah well.
Back to Oswego on New Years Day. Luckily we left early in the day, so did not have to traverse the slippery roads in the dark. From Rockford on home the roads were bad - snow blowing and drifing - so we took our time. Really cold and lots of wind to take the snow and pile it on the highway.
Hey, guess what - for the 2nd year in a row the Village of Oswego has decided we did not need our mailbox and mowed it down with the snow plow. Some kind soul put our mailbox on our front porch, so darn it all we will need to pay those bills with no excuse. Of course all the mail was good and wet, but safe. The Village was called today and they will send someone out to inspect the damage, but I am sure we will not get much satisfaction out of it. For now the mailbox is bungie corded to the post. At least it is somewhat still usable.
And then of course going back to work was less than fun today. We always put in new procedure codes the beginning of the year. Unfortunately we do not have a forward thinking Billing Manager, as she notified us of some codes on the 31st, which changed a whole bunch of work I had done in the Radiology Department to standardize codes. Now there is a lot of rework to do, and hope that nobody orders the wrong procedure between now and the time I get this fiasco corrected.
And so I say to all of you - Happy New Years - eliminating the Bah Humbug that wants to come out of my mouth. I'm off to ride my recumbant bike and work off some of my frustration.
P.S. - I am almost over my headache, so next time I write I will be in a much better mood.
