Half Granite, Half tile

Well, half the granite came in yesterday. The area behind the kitchen sink was missed, so there was a gaping triangular size hole missing out of the counter top. So, back it went to the shop, as well as the adjoining piece. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. Hopefully those two remaining pieces will be installed on Monday.

But, in the meantime, the tile arrived, so Phil and I could work on installing the tile in the 2 areas that were done. We got a mural for the area over the wine cooler, and as you can see, it is going to look pretty cool when it is done. Phil is using his new wet saw that he got for Christmas to cut the tiles. But, wet hands in 26 degree weather is not exactly fun. He is doing a great job of fitting the pieces in, though. I worked on installing pieces after lunch, and now we are on hiatus for a while. We cannot grout until all the tiles are installed, but at least progress is being made.
