Once upon a time, Phil and Joan decided to buy a wine cooler. Little did they realize (or maybe just Phil) that along with the wine cooler would come another cabinet, and then of course a countertop. So, we went shopping and ended up with granite. But, that meant having to demolish and remove the current laminate countertop. And, since we are going to put in an under counter sink, the new sink had to be bought along with a new faucet, and of course the plumbers will not put back in a 7 year old garbage disposal. New disposal as well. So, here is the first installation of the demolition project, from purchase of wine cooler to present day. Today we approved of the granite, they will manufacture this week, and then install this coming Friday, Feb 15. Did I mention that since the tile we have behind the counters now needs to come to the top of the granite, no backsplash, that we also need to remove some tile and then re-install it. This is because we had the tile installed originally on the diagonal, which looks really good, but doesn't do much for the remodeling project.
So, look at the pics and be glad you are not us!
The culprit - the wine cooler and new cabinet. Of course it needs a countertop, right?
Before
After
All lower cabinets have to have everything removed due to sawdust! Where to store it? Anywhere you can find!
Sink corner before
And after!
Will show more pictures once the granite is in. Bye for now. OOPS, did I mention we cut the water line for the dishwasher so we need to buy a new one? Ah well ~~~~~~~~~
